Casino Proposal for Caesars Palace in Times Square Opens Public Comment Period

The Caesars Palace Times Square casino project, which has sparked controversy in the heart of New York City, is set to undergo a public hearing process. The hearings will provide an opportunity for the public to voice their opinions on the proposed development.

Community Advisory Committee Public Hearing

The first hearing, scheduled for August 13, 2025, is the Community Advisory Committee Public Hearing. This open press event will take place at Scandinavia House, Victor Borge Hall – Lower Level, 58 Park Ave, New York, NY 10016. Members of the public can attend without prior appointment. Speakers may sign up on-site starting at 9:30 AM and have 2 minutes to present their statements, on a first-come, first-served basis. The purpose of this hearing is to gather public comments on the project application.

Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) Public Hearing

A second hearing, the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) Public Hearing, will be held virtually on August 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This hearing will allow remote participation via Zoom. Members of the public can join the Zoom session to provide comments; registration details and participation instructions are available on the New York State Gaming Commission website. The purpose of this hearing is to gather comments specifically on the DEIS for the Caesars Palace Times Square project.

For those unable to attend the hearings, written comments can be sent via email or mail. The New York State Gaming Commission contact, Kristen Buckley, can be reached for email submissions.
