New Museum Café in Eupen Set to Open in September
Cornelia Soriano Eupen, a native of Stuttgart who honed her confectionery skills at CafĂ© Nast, is set to open her first cafĂ© â the museum cafĂ© in Eupen. The cafĂ©, located in a historic building on the city wall, will be surrounded by a museum landscape and offer a unique dining experience.
Soriano Eupen has already received applications for additional staff as she prepares for the grand opening. The café will have a soft opening instead of a grand opening, as it is still waiting for parts of the tableware and the ordered chairs to arrive.
The café will boast a total of 44 outdoor seats, including those in the courtyard. It will offer partially shaded seating areas, a view over a nearby fountain and the square in front of the restaurant "Stoffels im StadtbrÀu", and up to the mill.
In addition to coffee and cake, the menu will feature small savory dishes such as hot cross buns, sandwiches, potato salad with meatballs, vegetable quiche, and a changing daily soup. Soriano Eupen's international experience will be reflected on the menu, particularly in the cheesecake and cookies. However, she has not yet chosen a Dutch classic for her menu.
Soriano Eupen's husband will support her in the initial phase of the café. The café will be open from Wednesday to Monday, from 9 am to 9 pm. Tuesday is the day off. The café will open in September.
Soriano Eupen worked as a confectioner in America and The Hague, Netherlands, before settling in Wangen with her son and husband for several years. She is excited about the opening of her first café and has plans for tapas evenings and readings in the courtyard in the long term.
However, Soriano Eupen does not have a family confectionery to take over. The museum café will be her first venture into the world of café ownership. With a total of 44 outdoor seats and a unique museum setting, it promises to be a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
